These are a collection of Starbucks and Hear Music CD's. For each one, I'd meet with the music folks who put it together, listen to their thinking, listen to the music and come up with names, descriptions and intro copy. These were always a blast to work on.
Ciao Amore
A lovestruck set of swinging serenades
Step inside, it’s pure romance baby.
Passione if you know what I’m saying.
Slinking your way straight from a land full of lovers completely unafraid to die for the true thing.
That’s amore my friend.
Sure the smoke gets in your eyes. Sure the rhythm plays an unforgiving bongo beat on your heart sometimes. Small price to pay for one Bella Notte weaving its magic spell of enchantment around you on a long, drifting, drunken note.
Now…come dance with me or call for another cappuccino.
Mambo Mio
Lively Latin tunes to call your own
Call your friends. Roll up the carpets. Put out the cat.
It's time for Mambo Mio!
What? Can't dance?
I don't think so.
Just listen to that.
Horns a-blaring, a flashy solo and a syncopated rhythm nobody's body could rightly ignore.
See there, your toe's tapping already.
But just remember this, mi amigo, as you head bravely to the dance floor - little feet, big hips.
Mile Marker 383
Starbucks songs from the open road
There are these days, when the sun comes early and stays long past its welcome. Everything you start to do leaves you worn out and weary before you’ve even begun.
The world looks summer-faded.
So you plan your escape. You load up the car or maybe not. Maybe there’s no time before you have to get out.
Something is hot on your tail telling you to just go.
Now. Tomorrow's going to be too late. And so you drive. Windows down, music up. And as you pass another mile marker you feel it. Absolute freedom.
That's when you start to sing.
